Trendspotting: Harem Pants
On a recent trip to Barcelona, I noticed one emerging trend that has yet to become an American obsession. The Harem Pant. When I first saw them in Spain, I thought, “Who would wear these. They look like diapersâ€, but my mind was quickly swayed once I got used to the look and realized how effortlessly stylish they can be.Paired with booties, pointy-toe flats or gladiator sandals and a low-cut tank top or even a modest button down long-sleeve top, these pants give any outfit texture and a unique shape. These pants are extremely versatile and a great transition piece from summer to fall.
With the high volume of articles and posts written about this up-and-coming style, it’s only a matter of time before every fashion-forward girl in the Midwest is rocking this drapey look.

i like that you blatently admit to not liking something until it has become a trend in chicago (which takes so fucking long) and then explain exactly what clothing you could pair it with to completely remove any greatness that was once there… why the fuck do i read your blog??!

This has been in style, even in the states, NYC, Chicago (wicker park/uk village) and elsewhere, where the fashion forward congregate. I bought drop crotch, harem, whatever you want to call them over a year and a half ago. they are comfortable, etc.
I haven’t seen one person wearing these in Chicago. Maybe one. Your tips are good but I can’t say that they will sway me to wear them. Skinnies for life!
This trend has been going on for a while now! For those in the know, it’s pretty much been done to death already, but I don’t think it’s going to be something that’s in every girl’s closet.
