Chicago: The British Invasion – Topshop and All Saints set to Hit Mag Mile

The British fast-fashion chain, Topshop, will open its second U.S. store on Michigan Avenue early next fall, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. The shop will take over the 30,000-square-foot Border’s bookstore at 830 N. Michigan Ave. And, if that wasn’t exciting enough, opening up this fall, just down the street, is another London-based brand, All Saints. This 11,000-square-foot edgy-fashion mecca will be housed in the former Chicago Place mall, between Saks and Zara.
While I’ve argued with many on whether or not Chicago is a stylish city, and I believe that it is, these two openings are going to push us into another arena. Even though Topshop and All Saints are fast-fashion, they are cutting edge. Our options now, H & M and Forever 21, are on trend. So, basically, since edgier clothing will be more accessable, I see more risks being taken and A LOT more stylish people walking around this city in the next two years.
