Inspiration: Patrick Swayze- The Ultimate Hunk
Like every little girl growing up in the 80’s, we thought we were going to marry Patrick Swayze. We were just 5 years old when we first spotted him in Dirty Dancing. And even though we had to cover our eyes during the good parts, he made our little hearts skip a beat even before he said, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner”.
In honor of the original hunk, we made a list of Swayze films that gave us the time of our lives.
1. Dirty Dancing – Who doesn’t love a man with rhythm? Swayze stole our hearts as the sexy, dancing machine, Johnny Castle.
2. Ghost – Swayze plays, Sam Wheat, a man-turned-ghost that comes back to warn his love of impending danger. While doing so they participate in one of the romantic movie scenes of the early 90’s.
3. Point Break– As Bodhi, a surfer/bank robber, Swayze portrays the ultimate bad boy. You can’t go wrong with killer lines like, “Fear causes hesitation and hesitation will cause your worse fears to come true”. This one is a must watch.
4. To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar – We can’t say this is a 5 star flick(Sorry PS) but we can say that this movie has heart. Swayze and other notable fellas play drag queens who travel the country and dance the night away, which is the main reason why we love this movie. The delicious, disco-inspired soundtrack includes the likes of- Salt-N-Pepa, Tom Jones, and Cyndi Lauper!

  • To Wong Foo was so good, full of heart as you said. It takes some manly men to play drag so well. Oh I am sad about PS.
