Inspiration: Daisy Buchanan, The Great Gatsby

Somehow I managed to graduate from high school without reading The Great Gatsby. Well, I just fixed that and then immediately had to watch the 1970s Coppola film.
The crisp white suits that Gatsby wears and the pale, floaty dresses of Daisy Buchanan give me hope that I’ll spend all spring and summer in lightweight chiffon, lounging on a chaise in a gazebo, mint julep in hand.
The entire film is dreamy and soft focus and the women are impeccably dressed. My favorite part is that at the enormous parties that Gatsby throws, there are always these two twins, dressed in matching sequined flapper dresses that just dance with each other the entire time and don’t look at anyone else. I like that kind of attitude.
