{{Omaha}} loom Weaves Fashion

It’s not common to check out the work of a handful of Omaha designers and get your dance on at the same time, but it’s on this Saturday at loom Weaves Fashion. Head to the Bus Depot (2116 Leavenworth where Omaha used to park buses in the 1930s) from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. to get your groove on and get jiggy (yes, get jiggy) with fashion.
The event is designed as a literal manifestation of the loom mission to weave the social fabric through dance. A shift from the typical runway/models/audience format, the threads of designers Dale Heise, Alexia Thiele, Julia Drazic, Buf Reynolds, Jilawan Bunnimit, Megan Sweley, Sabrina Jones, Joscelyn Bains and Liz Moldenhauer will be worn by your friends and fellow dancers; the designers will each be present at their own booths. An open photo shoot is another twist: fashion designers, participants and the general public will be encouraged to get their model on.
Also featured: live visuals courtesy of Aaron Gum, a fabric installation by Stephen Sheehan, a cash bar by Espana, music by Brent Crampton, percussion by the loom crew and hosting by Jay “rhythmSOULdier” Kline.
Bring a $5-spot for the cover, and look your best: the MidWasteland will be there snapping pics!
