Factio Magazine's Fall Issue Launch Party

Last week I attended Factio Magazine’s fall Issue launch party held at 4 Art in Pilsen. For the event, Factio teamed up with Dismero, a chic Italian sportswear line, to bring their guests live entertainment at its finest.
The entertainment came by way of a staged clothing shoot featuring Dismero’s fall collection, which was being shot by photographer, Marco Pedde.Guests stood around noshing on designer sushi catered by Kohan and sipping fun, blue beverages by Hpnotiq, while gorgeous models(and some real people) got their pictures taken. The experience was definitely a dream come true for any fashion follower.

The boy above says he’s not wearing his Marching Band Jacket to be ironic. He actually says it will be a key player in his winter wardrobe. What do you guys think about that? Statement pieces as staples. Discuss.

  • Hm. I’ve heard plenty of people claim that they long to incorporate a marching band jacket into their fall/winter wardrobes, but no one has declared such a piece would become a staple. Seems like this fella runs the risk of earning a nickname like “Grand Marshall” if he follows through with his plan.

  • I like this web site a bunch, and I’m glad to see so many mid-westerners with such great style. But how come the street sweeper section mostly has pictures of people at events? It’s really common to see people dressed up in clothes that aren’t necessarily their everyday outfits at a gallery opening or a party. It would be nice if there were a separate section for events, and then the street sweeper should be reserved for people on the everyday street (or the sidewalk, that is safer.)

  • that idea is great…in theory. that’s the thing about taking “street” pics in the midwest, the weather doesn’t always permit and really, neither does my real life schedule, unfortunately. but we’re working on things…

  • I LOVE IT ! EVERYONE SHOULD STOB BEING SUCH DOUCHES AND TAKE RISKS WHAT EVER THE REACTION. A STATEMENT IS BETTER THEN… OLD NAVY..DRESS BARN…LEGGINGS….URBAN…AMERICAN APPRL…. NO ONE WOULD HAVE ANYTHING TO TALK ABOUT RUNWAY TO SIDEWALK !!!

  • first off, haute means high- as in haute couture, which means high fashion. i’m sorry, really, but this kind of thing just bugs me.

and i have a marching band jacket that i wear fairly regularly. it’s a nice sgt. pepper’s-esque piece that adds a touch of 60’s faux military fashion to any outfit. if he can pull it off, which is doubtful, but if he can, it’ll look sweet as sugar in any chi-town scene.

  • Um, no. Not interesting. Not unique. Tear off all the epaulets, trimmings, etc. and *maybe*. As is, one could never escape the assumptions and references and connotations and implications of such a costume, nor could one extract oneself from the expected onslaught of mediocre minds that would presumptuously take this childishness for the extremely passe style construct that we called irony.
