Obamamamma: Midwest Dressed

Gotta love a woman who sticks to her roots, especially when they’re Midwestern.
Despite having the whole fashion world at her fingertips, Michelle Obama has been loyal to her favorite hometown (aka Chicago) designer, Maria Pinto, while out on the campaign trail. Last night she continued the trend while delivering her speech at the Democratic National Convention.
And man, can she wear a sheath dress. Just like the purple Pinto sheath, cinched with a fierce Azzedine Alaïa belt, she wore when Barack accepted his nomination, this tasteful teal number crowned with a matching brooch was right on point.
I was a little shocked when she made Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed List this year, but it’s true, she always looks good…and more importantly, looks the part.
