Latest Obsession: Lady Long Johns

Long johns have come a long way from war bunkers. They made a major comeback in 2006 thanks to the brand Primp and starlets like Mischa Barton, who wore her thermals as street wear. Like LA girls even have the slightest idea of what it means to be cold. It’s -20 degrees in Madison and 80 degrees in LA today. I’m currently huddled inside wearing fingerless gloves and Mischa’s probably wearing a bikini on the beach…actually, that’s probably to taboo for January.
I love to roam the house and sleep in mine during the winter. On the most frightfully cold days I wear them layered underneath my clothes as an extra barrier. Not many of winter’s warmest accessories are something to have fun with, but long johns keep you toasty and playful. Plus, so late in the season most of them are on sale!
The Etsy long johns pictured are recycled merino wool sweater arms sewn together and attached to new underwear. Get them Here
I bought the American Eagle Outfitters navy and white striped separates, and I can’t help but love the quirkiness of the classic long john. Both styles are on sale now. Get them Here
You can find the trendy Primp prints Here and Here
The Isis and Burton bottoms are made for winter elements on the slopes, so they are extra durable, waterproof and warm. Plus the peony and cupcake prints add a feminine/girly touch. Get them Here
