Beauty: Putting A Name to A Face

Beauty and fashion. Fashion and beauty. Much like music, the two just go hand in hand, don’t they?

No wonder during fashion week, people find themselves looking at the make-up and hair just as much as they do the clothing. I mean, who could forget the Dior faces just about every single season? Very Valley of the Dolls meets Nightmare Before Christmas if you ask me. So here at the MidWasteland, we’ve decided to incorporate beauty into our repertoire.

As your Minneapolis based MidWasteland-er who’s day job just happens to be professional make up artist, I jumped at the opportunity. I mean, I LIVE for this stuff. I’ve been doing make-up for fashion shows, celebrities, red carpet, etc…for the last 6 years in LA, NYC and now here in Minneapolis.

I want to bring you trends, products, looks, news and tips on all things beauty in the Midwest and beyond. Whether it be me raving about false lashes (LOVE THEM!) or helping you pick out which tinted moisturizer is best for that flaky winter skin we’re all going to be getting as soon as the Midwest remembers it’s the Midwest and stops acting like Hawaii.

Now, I’m asking for your help! We wanted to come up with a catchy little name for our beauty blog but I’m stumped! So, send me ideas and we’ll come up with something together. Right now I’m thinking Taylored Beauty (get it?) but maybe that’s just too corny.

So check back often, I’m going to try and bring you beauty at least once a week from here on out.
