Inresponse to the current recession high-end labels, such as Gucci, aimto find low-cost methods to keep their name in the public. Gucci, thisfall will launch its first of a series of “flash sneaker shops,â€which will open in various cities that gather what they consider “tastemakers.â€Â These shops will offer a range of limited edition shoes designed byGucci creative director, Frida Giannini, and music producer, Mark Ronson,and will stay open for two to three weeks in each city.  One ofthe first shops will open October 21st, on Crosby Street,in Soho.

Gucciseems to be aiming their focus on people who influence style by takingon DJ Mark Ronson to design exclusive Gucci Sneakers. Gucci Icon-Temporarywill offer customers 16 exclusive sneakers for men and 2 for women.Gucci’s chief executive officer, Patricio di Marco states that theyhope to draw a wider clientele “In terms of age and demographics.â€In aims to keep up with mainstream media, the company hopes to spreadthe word of mouth through Internet sources such as blogs and socialnetworks.
