Chicago: Cut Copy Sends Cosmic Energy Through Sold Out Vic Theatre

cutcopy2
Cut Copy delivered whimsicalnew wave beats and synthesized vocals to a sold out Vic Theatre lastnight.
Silhouetted by a neon flickeringcosmic light show, the Australian based band sent out a spiritual vibeacross crowd surfers and psychedelic tribe like dancers. Crowd favoritesappeared to be Lights and Music and Hearts on Fire off their newest album In Ghost Colours.
Opening act Matt and Kim seemedto be entertaining but I am not sure musically critics favored them.Personally, I found the two-piece Brooklyn set adorable if rock canbe such. Especially the track Yea Yeah from their 2006 self titled album Matt and Kim.
Head banging keyboardist andlead vocals Matt kept the kids roaring especially when he crowd walkedto nearly the middle of the theatre. Personally, I thought they puton a very energetic show, which is a major reason people still go toconcerts, for that similar energy.
