Party Dress: Derek Blasberg Keeps It Classy In Chicago

A book with photos of women and a phone.

On Wednesday, girls and their gays gathered to meet and greet Derek Blasberg, author of the newly penned etiquette book, Classy. A modern day guide for ladies looking to get their manners in check, with advice on everything from what to wear on a flight to how to plan the perfect party. References to the Midwest are injected throughout in homage to Blasberg’s St. Louis roots.

Falling far from short of its namesake, the Gilt Groupe-sponsored fete was held in the penthouse of the W Hotel Lakeshore and hosted by interior designer, Nate Berkus.

In attendance were the who’s who of Chicago’s social scene and a clique of Manhattan scenesters including: model Byrdie Bell, Fabiola Berracasa, Lyle Maltz, and MTV’s SuChin Pak.

The dressed-to-impress crowd left with freshly signed copies of the book and a new-found interest in their classy quotient.
