How To: Wear Floral

With the weather above 60 and the rain showers behind us, it’s finally time to take a leap into our summer wardrobes. What better way to do that than with the perfect summer sundress?! This season we have several styles to choose from but, with the resurgence of 90’s fashion, floral baby doll(esque) dresses will be a classic that everyone can pull off.

For some, the idea of a floral sundress is uncharted territory and you’re probably most comfortable in your LBD’s or maxi dresses. Fear not, ladies, there’s a trick to pulling off this style. It’s simple, just find a pattern that flatters your body type. Think in opposites. For example, small girls should generally go with a bigger, bolder print while curvier ladies should choose smaller, liberty-style prints to balance them out. Once you find the one that works for you, your next step is accessories.

This is the time when you can really personalize your look. Don’t veer from your regular style.

Hippie-ish

If you’re a boho girl(who isn’t in the summer?) then play up the look with wood, feathers and simple metal accessories. Chanel MK Olsen and pair with a great, big pair of wooden platforms(1).

Grunge

If you’re an original Sassy Girl and smell like teen spirit then channel Courtney Love with black, black, and more black. No grunge look would be complete without a little leather. I suggest a biker vest(2), a great alternative to the biker jackets we saw last fall.

Preppy

Finally, if Charlotte York is your style icon, prep it up with brights that will make your blossoms bloom. Pick one stand out accessory like a fun flat, belt or bag(3).
