Latest Obsession: "Extreme Beauty in Vogue"

Dolce & Gabbana celebrates their premiere makeup collection with “Extreme Beauty in Vogue,” a photo exhibition investigating the role of beauty in our culture.

The exhibit opens tomorrow, March 4, and continues through May 10, 2009 at Milan’s Palazzo della Ragione. It was created and curated by American Vogue and features photographs from the last 75 years of pages taken by the world’s most celebrated photographers.

The photos’ extremity is engaging, but can you imagine being a model and having to sit through some of these shots?
My favorites are simple in concept and extreme in composition. The windblown photo of Twiggy by Richard Avedon, Erwin Blumenfeld’s noseless smirk and Helmut Newton’s dark creature on the sidewalk are particularly breathtaking.

Which photos are your favorite?
