Hollywood Hipsters: Mighty Impressive Artist

M.I.A’s appearance and performance at the Grammys last night was the most entertaining and enjoyable part of the entire evening. It was her baby’s (with Benjamin Brewer) due date, and the pop star not only waddled the red carpet, but performed “Swagger Like Us” with Jay-Z, Kanye West, T.I. and Lil Wayne.
It’s hard to look bad-ass when you’re nine months deep, but M.I.A. held her own alongside the male megastars. Always fun and original, M.I.A. highlighted her fertile belly in a ladybug inspired ensemble straight off House of Holland’s Spring/Summer ’09 runway. It was a mistake not giving her a solo.
