The Midwest Hits the Runway

I’m sure you, like myself, were intensely focused on who showed during New York fashion week, what models walked the runways and which celebs sat in the front rows. And, like the rest of the fashion world, we’ll ask the same exact questions for the next few weeks about London, Milan and Paris.
Though, it might be time for Midwest fashionistas to focus their energy a little closer to home.
For the next month, our very own budding fashion territory will host many a fashion week. The festivities started this week with the Midwest’s indie music capitol, Omaha, hosting a week of events, along with our neighbor to the north, Minneapolis, who hosted their very own fashion weekend .For the weeks ahead, if you can tear yourself away from style.com’s coverage of far away fashion, check out a show or two in your area.
Since I’m located in Chicago, I will be attending and covering all of the city’s awesome events, starting with Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion on October 1st. If you live nearby, visit Chicago Fashion Resource for the rest of the week’s scheduled events.
