TRENDSPOTTING: Byzantine Jewels + Miriam Haskell Giveaway!

A collection of jewelry is shown in this image.

The Byzantine trend is derived from a time ruled by emperors. No cent was spared on lavishing their dynasties. Specifically, on their religious art which was always leafed in gold and encrusted with the finest array of colored glass pieces. An era fit for a king(and Kanye).

Several designers used the high-drama, embellishments in recent collections, including: Alexander McQueen, Etro, and Chanel.
We found two Byzantine-inspired cocktail rings fit for any modern-day empress. Splurge on the Regal(duh!) Cocktail Ring from Miriam Haskell’s Absinthe collection($325). A handmade beauty with a conglomerate of navy and clear crystals with grey pearls in an ornate brass filigreed setting. Topshop will give you the trend for a steal with their Teardrop & Rhinestone Ring($50). It’s reminiscent of the stunning mosaics of that time with its big green stone, burnished gold band, and smaller multicolored stones.
Whichever your wallet allows, you will come out looking like you live in a palace(or a reallllly nice studio in the Gold Coast).

WIN THE SPLURGE! Tell us your favorite piece from the Miriam Haskell for Decades “Uptown/Downtown” collection and win a Regal Cocktail Ring(value $325) of your very own. Check it out online: http://www.miriamhaskell.com or in person at: space519 in the 900 North Michigan Shops. Contest ends 10/19/11 at Midnight CST.

  • I saw the collection in person at space 519 and fell in love! I don’t even know how to choose just one piece as my favorite! If I must, I choose the downtown crystal cocktail ring. It is so stunning and such a statement piece. Not to mention I looove rings (why I want to win the giveaway!) and wear one or more on a daily basis. My second favorite would be the uptown toggle bracelet!

  • The collection is glamorous and Iove earrings than any other jewelry type so I have to go with Miriam Haskell For Decades Edie Earrings. So astonishing and a real statement maker for any outfit you wear.

  • My fave piece of this collection has to be the Paisley Cuff. It’s to die for. It just has such an elegant and cultural look to it. I would love to dress an outfit up with this piece. LOVE <3.

  • I am digging the For Decades Edie Earrings…elegant & simple, yet beautifully unique. Would look great with hair up or down.

  • Oh man I love the Shoulder Duster Earrings (M03055-E01)! I would buy them if I had the money. Those are my favorite piece from the collection.

  • Miriam Haskell For Decades Gunmetal Pearl Necklace is my favorite piece. I see pearl jewelry as very lady-like, but like rebel feel of the gunmetal. And the embellished clasp is so beautiful so I wouldn’t mind if it shows. Love this!!
