Michael Kors is known for designing classic American sportswear that will flatter any woman at any age.  He’s also throws a great party.

The scene was brimming with "Ladies Who Lunch" and the who's who of Chicago socialites at the grand opening party for Kors' new store in the 900 North Michigan building Wednesday night. When an iconic designer is in the house, Chicago shows up and shows off. Guests were dressed to the 9's, without a hair out of place. Furs, Louboutins, Hermes. Check, check, and check. The same goes for the two stores. Not a thing out of place in the upscale Collection boutique, located in the old Stuart Weitzman spot or the more reasonably priced Lifestyle store down the hall. 

The designer himself took a walk down the runway after a presentation of pretty pastels, form-fitting frocks, daring cutouts and totally hunky male models.

Oh, and we can’t forget about the Moet. It was flowing.
